In Episode 6, Robin Washington’s love of music is only slightly eclipsed by her gift for being a wisecracking smartass. Listen as she discusses her grandfather’s pimp tendencies, her hilarious account of grooving to The Black Crowes’ Amorica record on Spotify, her adoration of Prince, and her complete disdain for me.
Washington’s playlist:

Michael Jackson – Working Day & Night

May 9, 2017 at 12:21 amAwesome show with Robin (not just because I’m her Mother). I still have that 45′ of Stacey Q and I guess (as not one country song appeared on her list) I can ‘out her’ by telling your that the first song she started singing as a baby was Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”. It was wonderful to hear how music is so relevant in her life, our family runs on music having been exposed to every genre from Classical, country to rap …with our greatest backbones of Jazz & Blues… (I have over 13k of Itunes taken from my record collection) Her Grandfather (my Dad) would alway say “What this!” at a certain part of a tune because, as a musician he saw music in his mind and felt every note (as Robin remembers). I never knew until today Robin & I share the same opinion about ‘Rush’. I really enjoyed the show and will continue to follow . I was raised to believe that there isn’t anything you can’t get through, talk about or love without attaching a song….I’m always interested in hearing how others relate to a song and why. We often have jam sessions here and it’s so interesting how a song can trigger a different memory from a tragic one, to loving one or even a great meal…..great program!
